Still in a Fit, barely starting

Poor planning strikes again and here it is 10:30 at night and I have not sat still long enough to type something out relevant to this blog. Which is to say I’m not even sure what the point of this blog is, let alone for something to be relevant to. I am still working on a year of wearing wool. It seems sillyish, and I’m not sure what the point of the challenge is. Who cares if I wear wool every day or not? Also, after the 100 days Wool& Challenge, I don’t believe I have had a day where I ... continue reading...

Fits and Starts

I first had this titled by the first line of T. S. Eliot's Ash Wednesday. A gorgeous poem that I try to read every year on, yes, Ash Wednesday. This year, I listened to Mr. Eliot read it himself via the miracle of Youtube. I hate to admit it, but I much prefer Jeremy Irons reading the same poem. What does Eliot know about the cadence of his own poem, anyhow? I switched the title, obviously. Let the reader beware that this blog has become an experiment. It seems fitting to start the experiment ... continue reading...

The actual 10th day of Christmas

Still wearing wool 04/2023Still practicing French I am at the point in my challenges in which I am tempted to just stop everything for one day so that I can say I missed a day and not try to be perfect. It would be easy to write a post here, skip a day. I'm not saying anything important anyway. It would be more difficult to not wear wool. In under six months I went from thinking wool was itchy and I wanting none of it to wearing it every day to enjoying the feel and drape (mostly drape) of ... continue reading...

10th day of Christmas, The Holy Name of Jesus

Woolen 3/2023 I haven't cracked a French book or a French app today and it's late. I'm committed, though, so I'll make time. No photo of the outfit. I wore my marine blue Fiona, with a non-wool Ann Taylor pink cardigan. It's the same color and same line as the shirt I wore yesterday and is a good color on me. I wore, too, the same pair of non-wool leggings, and my Bjorn short boots. Oh, and a pink belt. I like the outfit overall, but always have some reservations about wearing the short ... continue reading...

The 9th day of Christmas

Woolen 2/2023 I took a picture of myself but it's absolutely horrible. I don't have a full length mirror in my home and am reliant on my phone and watch syncing and me finding the best pose for the moment. During the 100 day challenge last year, I had both the location and pose down outside. But it's winter now. Although a warm day, so maybe I should head on out and retake the picture. (Update: I managed to take the photo, obviously, and upload it. What an exercise in humility this will prove ... continue reading...
