A New Year and new resolutions. Among them, to type a little bit here most days; to wear something wool every day; and to practice my French everyday. I’m off to a good start on the procrastination front as it’s fairly late and I’m just getting around to plunking something out. Nonetheless, here we are.
Last summer I jumped on the Wool& bandwagon and started a 100 day dress challenge in a washed navy Sierra. Four months later, I’m the proud owner of several of the Wool& dresses and wear them every day. All of this to say that wearing wool every day is not really much of a challenge for me, but I’d like to continue the habit, even into the summer, and with more than one dress. I don’t need any more clothes than I have, I certainly have enough. However, I do plan on buying a another summer weight dress from Wool&. I have a lot of blue, which I do love, but I think I might like to look for merino cardigans in colors other than blue and gray.
I regularly log into Duolingo to brush up on my French. I keep the habit up for maybe a week at a time before I get distracted. I plan to keep up with it this year. I have a friend who lives across the country for me but who also is practicing her French. Together, we are reading Baudelaire’s Fleurs du Mal. The poems are a doozy, but reading in French is certainly good practice to read in French. I don’t have a plan for how to improve my conversational French – actually talking with someone and not at Duolingo – but I’m sure I can figure something out. Typing this out, I am not sure why I don’t FaceTime my friend, but how to carry on a conversation with two non-conversationalists?
In the meantime, it’s still Christmas around here. The tree is fake so there’s no fire hazard to speak of. It will likely come down on Saturday, one day after Epiphanie, but I’m sure the Wise Men won’t mind. Indeed, the wise men – and the rest of the nativity – will hang out until February 2.
It’s 11:56 and if I’m going to make my cut off, I’m going to have to hit post. No photo today.
