I’m purging pictures. We’ve been gone awhile, and I forgot my card reader at home. So I’m here now. At home, looking back through the pictures. And laughing. And rolling my eyes. And wondering why my kids won’t look at the camera anymore? Pictures of the back of heads aren’t just for blogging – they’re all I have.
And then I saw this picture and almost deleted it.
What was I thinking taking a picture of the top of the apartment building? What camera setting was I experimenting with? Did it work out in the end?
There were a few like that.
But then I realized – I saw it.
It’s a rainbow.
After every rain (or even right before it) when the light is just right, and bright, and bouncing off the silver clouds my children scramble for their shoes and head outside.
They are looking for the rainbow. Every time.
And then call me out.
I mean, call me outside to take a picture of it for them.
I do.
And sometimes, the rainbow ends up finding me.
