Still wearing wool 04/2023Still practicing French I am at the point in my challenges in which I am tempted to just stop everything for one day so that I can say I missed a day and not try to be perfect. It would be easy to write a post here, skip a day. I'm not saying anything important anyway. It would be more difficult to not wear wool. In under six months I went from thinking wool was itchy and I wanting none of it to wearing it every day to enjoying the feel and drape (mostly drape) of ... continue reading...
10th day of Christmas, The Holy Name of Jesus
Woolen 3/2023 I haven't cracked a French book or a French app today and it's late. I'm committed, though, so I'll make time. No photo of the outfit. I wore my marine blue Fiona, with a non-wool Ann Taylor pink cardigan. It's the same color and same line as the shirt I wore yesterday and is a good color on me. The 9th day of Christmas
Woolen 2/2023 I took a picture of myself but it's absolutely horrible. I don't have a full length mirror in my home and am reliant on my phone and watch syncing and me finding the best pose for the moment. (Update: I managed to take the photo, obviously, and upload it. What an exercise in humility this will prove ... continue reading...
New Year’s Day, Mary the Mother of God
A New Year and new resolutions. Among them, to type a little bit here most days; to wear something wool every day; and to practice my French everyday. I’m off to a good start on the procrastination front as it’s fairly late and I’m just getting around to plunking something out. Nonetheless, here we are. Last summer I jumped on the Wool& bandwagon and started a 100 day dress challenge in a washed navy Sierra. Four months later, I’m the proud owner of several of the Wool& dresses and ... continue reading...
On Wandering Through the Pages
When I was a child our family had a short walnut bookcase in our narrow, ell-shaped hallway. The top shelf was filled with a brightly colored ChildCraft collection put out by World Book Encyclopedia. The bottom shelf held the more “adult” brown and black encyclopedia set. The bookcase, and its noble contents, arrived mysteriously. No brown packaging to herald an unpacking and no plaid clad encyclopedia salesman at our door.... Read the rest at Dappled Things. ... continue reading...
